My role

Executive Assistant to Chairman & CEO

Head of sustainability eco-taskforce

Bangkok, Thailand

2007-2009

Based at Six Senses headquarters, I was part of the executive team. Right hand to the CEO, founder a& Chairman, Sonu Shivdasani--Indian origin, young, energetic brittish millionaire visionary, married to Eva Shivdasani, former top model, head of Design for the group.

My responsabilities:

  • Act in representation of CEO

  • Coordinate with the strategic executive team: Chief sales officer (CSO), Chief financial officer (CFO), Chief operating officer (COO) & others

  • Head of CEO team: Personal Assistant, Communication Coordinator, Administrative Coordinator

  • Supervise operation of properties (resorts & spas) worldwide

  • Monthly performance tracking, analysis & reporting for all properties, key operational idicators (sales, profit, occupancy levels), including guest satisfaction group-wide

  • Guest service quality assurance- including attending and resolve guest complaints, implement corrective & preventive measures

  • Supervise implementation of corporate strategy

  • Executive support to the CEO (schedule management, travel arrangements, managing emails, budget tracking, managing expenses, responding to correspondence, media interviews, press articles and other duties)

  • Ad-hoc projects group-wide: Formulation, research and implementation

  • Developing innovative concepts, including  action plan & implementation (sourcing suppliers and providers)--i.e. Soneva in Aqua (yacht resort experience), tree-top dining (Soneva Kiri), EVA 100% green brand

  • Crisis management

  • New project development tracking, liasing with development team, pipeline updates

  • Manage best practices list-ensure implementation & consistency group-wide

  • Support in residential villa sales

Human Resources:

  • Tracking goals & objectives (G&Os) and KBI (key behavior indicators) of the strategic executive team reporting to CEO (weekly, monthly, annual)

  • Corporate recruitment (from graduates to senior executives)

  • Elaborate job descriptions & scout for candidates

  • Liaise with head-hunters & other firms.

  • Periodical peer appraisals & performance evaluation tracking for strategic executive team

Public Relations & Media

  • Day to day liaison with clients, investors, developers, journalists, conference organizers, architects, government officials & others around the world involved in various projects

  • Interviews (in written, social & other media) regarding the hotel chain, its properties, vision and development plans

  • Preparing & delivering presentations and other materials for the CEO

  • Drafting speeches & press releases

  • Fam trips with travel agents, potential investors, VIP customers

Sustainability

  • Head of the Eco-taskforce, in charge of Eco- quick-wins (interdisciplinary monthy meetings, aimed at promoting innovation and creativity in operation best sustainble practices)- reducing eco-footprint in locations, developing relationships with local communities

  • Promote sustainable practices (from development to operation)

  • Creation of new 100% sustainable resort brand: E.V.A.

  • Carbon neutral initiative

  • Creating and implementing S.L.O.W.L.I.F.E initiatives (sustainable, local, organic, wholesome, experiences)

  • Launching new deep sea water cooling system (Maldives)

  • Organization of eco-symposum (6-8 June 2008, Soneva Fushi Malvies)--"Climate for Change"- first event gathering CEOs & presidents of major hotel chains worldwide to share sustainability best practices and innovations, as well as, industry leaders, academics & journalists.

Event planning

  • Event & conference organizer: i.e. eco-symposium (6-8 June, Soneva Fushi, Maldives), Resort Council, YPO Bangkok event “The Wellness Within”
